Finance & Operations
Transform the procurement function, from source to pay.
A Source-to-Pay transformation is not a tool deployment. It is a clarified procurement organization, sourcing and purchasing processes that hold, suppliers who actually adopt the system, and an integration with the S/4HANA core that gives finance a single truth. SAP Ariba is the enabler; the result shows in your contracts, your lead times and your spend.
The problem
A fragmented procurement process costs you on every order.
Tenders run over e-mail, scattered contracts whose deadlines nobody tracks, supplier invoices rekeyed then matched by hand, off-contract spend invisible until the close, supplier risk discovered on the day of the failure: as long as procurement lives in inboxes and spreadsheets, every order pays the price of fragmentation. And for companies on SAP SRM, the clock is ticking: end of maintenance is approaching.
The workstreams of a Source-to-Pay transformation
Six workstreams, one flow.
The scope of a successful procurement transformation goes beyond the tool. These are the six workstreams we run, in the order your context dictates.
Procurement organization
Roles, categories, delegation levels, contract governance: the organization model is clarified before the tool locks it in.
Source-to-Contract (S2C)
Sourcing, tenders, negotiation, contract lifecycle: deadlines tracked, commitments kept, negotiated savings that actually show up in the orders.
Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
Guided Buying to the right channel and the right contract, receipts, digitized invoices and automatic order-receipt-invoice matching: the end of rekeying and off-contract buying.
Supplier Lifecycle & Performance (SLP)
Onboarding, qualification, supplier risk and performance assessment: a single repository, shared with finance and quality.
Supplier adoption & Business Network
A system is only worth what its suppliers make of it: an onboarding plan in waves, SAP Business Network, support for strategic suppliers and small accounts alike.
S/4HANA integration
Every spend commitment visible in finance from the moment it is created: cash flow anticipated, matching automated, one accounting truth.
S/4HANA · Ariba integration
Three architectures, and the trade-offs that come with them.
Pairing S/4HANA with Ariba is not a box to tick: it is an architecture choice that commits your processes, your clean core and your run. Three patterns, which we assess against your existing landscape.
Ariba in front, S/4HANA as master
Sourcing, contracts and requisitions in Ariba; purchase orders, receipts and accounts payable in S/4HANA through the standard integration. Trade-off: the most standard option and the closest to clean core; requires strict discipline on shared master data.
Full P2P flow in Ariba
From requisition to invoice in Ariba, with S/4HANA receiving the postings and commitments. Trade-off: a unified buyer experience and simpler supplier adoption; in return, approval and receipt logic that has to be governed outside the core.
Hybrid by category
Ariba for indirect procurement and sourcing, S/4HANA for production purchasing and inventory, with Business Network as the shared supplier layer. Trade-off: the best fit for manufacturers; demands clear routing rules by category and a single supplier repository.
Our approach
One flow, from source to pay.
Scope
Mapping of your procurement process (sourcing, contracts, purchasing, invoicing), target organization and a transformation scope prioritized by value.
Design
Target S2C and P2P processes in SAP Ariba, approval workflows, supplier master data, an integration architecture chosen from the three patterns, all designed with your buyers.
Integrate
The S/4HANA + Ariba combination implemented according to the chosen architecture: commitments visible in finance from the moment they are created, matching automated.
Migrate
Exit from SAP SRM before the deadline: contracts and suppliers carried over, an organized move to Ariba, supply continuity guaranteed.
Adopt
Onboarding of buyers and suppliers through SAP Business Network, with SAP-certified procurement consultant-trainers; adoption and the share of spend under contract measured.
The deadline
SAP SRM stops in 2027. Your procurement process does not.
SAP SRM maintenance ends in 2027. Migrating at the last minute means migrating under pressure; starting now turns the deadline into an opportunity for a genuinely useful redesign of the procurement process. We build the case for the move to SAP Ariba (scope, data migration, timeline, costs) and run it in waves, without interrupting your supply.
